How tall are wow orcs
When they were freed from the Burning Legion, orcs experienced a cultural revolution as the unnatural, arcane bloodlust left their bodies, giving them calmer and more focused states of mind.
They, for the most part, follow Thrall as he forges ahead to reform the Horde both inside, with his shamanism, and outside, with the founding of Durotar. Still, not all orcs are pleased with these movements, namely the evil orcs who still reside on Azeroth. These orcs, who include a good number of the surviving warlocks, actively raid Alliance and Independent caravans and towns, and renounce all that Thrall proclaims the Horde is.
Like the two faces of the Alliance, the different Horde factions meet rarely; but there are some orc warlocks on Kalimdor who would very much like to retake control of the Horde forces and are gaining strength in the wilderness to do so. Orcs wear a variety of clothing styles, from furs and hides in some clans to heavy metal armor in others. They favor clothes of hide, and armor and arm themselves with a variety of gear. The orcs of Draenor were once known as the green plague and the Bane of Azeroth.
Orcish religion takes the form of an animistic worldview that has strange parallels with the practices of the Kaldorei. Orc shaman draw their power from the forces of the elements and the spirits of nature, forming a very intimate connection with the world that surrounds them. Orc males are massive and brutish looking creatures. Weighing in at to pounds and standing from 6 to 7 feet in height, they are not a small race.
Even orc women tend to be only a half-foot or so shorter and 50 to pounds lighter than most males and some of them are equal in stature to their male counterparts , having broad shoulders and muscular, powerful bodies. Most orcs are green-skinned, usually ranging from a light chartreuse yellow or olive to a dark forest or emerald green. Orcs tend to have coarse and bristly hair and beards, often black or brown in color, graying with age.
Orc males sometimes choose to grow beards that are wild and untamed, while others prefer them to be braided and tasseled.
These beards always hang from the chin, as orcs do not grow heavy facial hair above their upper-lip. Skeletal orc from Warlords of Draenor. Orc from the World of Warcraft intro cinematic. Elves are tall Sauron and the Balrogs were Maiar but seduced by Melkor and turned evil and they now range quite a bit in their physical forms. Gandalf and Saruman are also supposedly Maiar Think of Maiar as more like spirits instead of being physical.
If you are just referring to wizards They are considered fierce warriors but of course they're no match for some warriors like the best Men and Elves They are portrayed weaker than they really are in the movie. Don't get me wrong Gimli, Legolas, Aragorn, and Boromir can lay waste to dozens of them at a time but don't assume the average Man or Dwarf could do the same. Zenmervolt Elite member. Oct 22, 24, 11 They are taller than Hobbits and shorter than Ents. The Ents had better be in the next film, no more Tom Bombadil things being cut.
The Ents are there.. The following quote from the foreword to The Hobbit sheds some light on this: "[The word 'Orc'] occurs in one or two places but is usually translated goblin or hobgoblin for the larger kinds. This entry concentrates on the goblins of the Grey and Misty Mountains simply because it is these Orcs that Tolkien most frequently refers to by the term 'goblin'.
The word 'goblin' is also used occasionally and indiscriminately in The Lord of the Rings; it never occurs in the The Silmarillion. You must log in or register to reply here. Post thread. In The Two Towers , chapter 2 The Uruk-Hai , we see the northern orcs facing off against the Uruk-Hai: In the twilight he saw a large black Orc, probably Ugluk, standing facing Grishnakh, a short crook-legged creature Later in the same chapter, we see the following: most of the Northerners broke away and dashed off I haven't been able to source it from the novels yet, but wikipedia says: The Uruk-hai of Isengard were the tallest of these orcs, and had large hands and thick, straight legs, while the orcs of Mordor are described as bow-legged.
In "the Disaster at the Gladden Fields," Unfinished Tales it is noted that "[the Numenoreans] towered above the tallest Orcs, and their swords and spears far outreached the weapons of their enemies. Improve this answer. The Fallen The Fallen In "the Disaster at the Gladden Fields," it is noted that "[the Numenoreans] towered above the tallest Orcs, and their swords and spears far outreached the weapons of their enemies. There are no uruk-hai mentioned in the story, but "man-height" for Uruk-hai would have been by the measure of more normal men and therefore closer to 6 feet.
Where is that story located? I didn't see it in the appendices — The Fallen. It is in "The Unfinished Tales". There are lots of tribes, but it is certain that there are some orcs of nearer to hobbit height since Sam and Frodo wear their armor in Mordor and the Uruk-Hai which are going to be around 6-ish feet tall are noted for their height. Hopefully my notes and what you wrote can help form a picture of their diversity.
I don't have that book, so please feel free to edit my answer to add the relevant information. Thanks for this info! Good answer!
For comparison, Aragorn is described as being very tall for a man, not an ancient Numenorean at around 6. They strike me as largely underfed slaves Gundabad Orcs are as tall as Men, stronger than Orcs and Goblins, and have the agility needed to prowl, stalk and also leap in combat.
They could accomplish a variety of different tasks, in and out of combat Uruk-Hai are the tallest and strongest of the breed, able to wade into combat with a physical advantage, but lacking the agility and stealth of the Gundabad Orcs.
Definitely the heavy infantry of Sauron's armies, but not as all-purpose as Gundabad Orcs, though Uruk-Hai may still have greater overall stamina, judging by their marching abilities I'm really excited to see if the Battle of the Five Armies final conflict shows more of the Gundabad Orcs, they're an impressive force. I'm guessing the efforts of Azog and his subsequent defeat must have completely expended the Gundabad forces in Middle Earth?

What's the source for this info please? Fish Fish 1. Consider adding some more information, such as also comparing the Norther Orcs to Hobbits, or even a direct comparison between the various Orcs.
